Atom Finance is a fintech established in New York City by Eric Shoykhet in 2018. The venture has raised $12.6 million thus far. Its mission statement is to democratize access to the institutional investment tools previously only available to professional Wall Street traders.

With access to a Bloomberg terminal costing $24,000 per year, Atom Finance provides much of the same information for free. Thus, it allows individual investors to operate on a level playing field.

Atom Finance Features

Our review of Atom Finance can’t say enough about the quality of the investment analysis on offer to investors. Both beginners and veteran investors can gain a huge amount of information that’s simply not available through MarketWatch and Yahoo! Finance.

Although small, it’s growing quickly and is creating a level playing field within the markets.

Customized News Feed

Unlike Robinhood, the Atom Finance newsfeed provides you with relevant news stories about the companies you care about. It’s trained to focus on important financial data that could influence your trading decisions.

You also have full control over the stories reported. For example, if you have investments in three companies and only want to hear the news relevant to them, you can do that. It’s also possible to only hear news about companies with a certain market cap, specific industries, or even specific countries.

The data provided far surpasses popular investing apps like Robinhood. For example, Atom Finance gives you access to the opening, midday, and closing reports. This is why so many investors use the customized news feed from Atom Finance to supplement their brokerage account activity.

See Your Financial Accounts in One Place

Using Plaid, investors can see all their financial accounts in one place. Investors can track their financial accounts by synchronizing them with the platform. You can also monitor stats and receive real-time profit and loss statements.

This doesn’t give Atom access to any of your accounts, so you don’t need to worry about security.

Stock Alerts

Atom Finance stock alerts allow you to keep track of the stocks you care about. With multiple watch lists available, you can set price alerts so you’ll be the first to know if a stock is climbing or falling.

Its simple interface means you can easily keep track of a variety of asset classes, including commodities, currencies, bonds, and stocks.

In-Depth Company Analysis

Find out about a company by typing its name or ticker into the search box. Atom Finance analysis offers morning, afternoon, and evening briefs. Read through complete stock reports and find out which stocks are trending now.

There are also five different analysis tools available on Windows and iOS, including Sandbox, Portfolio, and X-Ray.

Stock Screener

Stock screeners are valuable tools because they allow investors to filter thousands of stocks in seconds. If you have specific criteria for your investments, Atom Finance’s stock screener allows you to quickly view investments that meet your criteria.

Different criteria you can set include:

  • Industry
  • Market cap
  • Return criteria

You can save your criteria for each search, so you can easily repeat searches without plugging your metrics back in again. Each set of saved criteria will be constantly monitored and you can receive alerts whenever a new potential investment is detected.

Passively keeping your finger on the pulse of the market is an extremely powerful tool and guarantees that you never miss out on the next big trend.

While not the most advanced stock screener available, the vast majority of investors will find everything they need with Atom Finance.

Create Financial Models

Atom Finance financial models allow you to forecast future performance for a business of your choice. These models are created from a range of factors, including income statements, cash flow, retained earnings, and industry data.

This feature offers an alternative to manually created spreadsheets. Models can be created directly on the platform.

Hubs

Hubs are the place for you to create watch lists and compare different stocks. The information within this area of your portfolio is updated and maintained in real-time, so you can be confident that the information presented here is current.

Choose from dozens of different metrics to compare different stocks, such as comprehensive company financial information, SEC filings, and analyst ratings.

Connect with Other Investors

Atom Finance enables you to connect with your fellow investors via the desktop website or mobile app. Both group chats and discussion boards provide a place for investors to sound off with their latest tips and insights.

Although these boards are occasionally an excellent resource to catch some great stock tips, there are no background checks on the people posting there. Most of the tips and opinions do come from relatively inexperienced investors.

Use this knowledge as a starting point for further research, rather than relying on these traders as a definitive trading source.

Brokerage Compatibility

Although there is no requirement to connect your brokerage account with Atom Finance, you can import trade data from a wide range of different U.S. brokerages.

Some of the brokerages compatible with Atom Finance include:

It’s considered best practice to connect your brokerage account to the platform so you can track your returns and perform an in-depth analysis of your portfolio.

Connecting your brokerage to the platform doesn’t give Atom Finance access to your financial information.

Atom Finance Fees

Atom Finance previously offered a free plan, but that is going away. Going forward, it will only offer its Premium plan for $9.99/month. However, there is a 7-day free trial if you want to try Atom Finance before committing.
